This policy explains what PantryIQ collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain and short on purpose.
What we collect
- Account information — your name and email, via Google Sign-In.
- Household data — the products, bills, and expenses you add.
- Purchase history and consumption patterns — what you buy and how quickly it runs out.
- Bill / invoice images — processed for item extraction, not stored permanently.
- Device information — used for basic app functionality.
How we use your data
- To track your pantry inventory and predict when items run out.
- To analyze consumption behavior and forecast restocking needs.
- To provide expense tracking and household bill splitting.
- To improve our product recommendations and forecasting accuracy.
- For analytics on aggregate consumption patterns (anonymized).
What we DON'T do
- We never sell your personal data to third parties.
- We don't share individual purchase data with brands or retailers.
- We don't access your messages, contacts, or other apps.
- Bill images are processed for text extraction only and not stored after processing.
Data storage
- Your data is stored securely on cloud servers (Railway / PostgreSQL).
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS only).
- You can delete all your household data at any time from the app.
Third-party services
- Google Sign-In — authentication.
- Anthropic Claude AI — bill extraction (images processed, not stored).
- Open Food Facts — product lookup (no personal data shared).
- Unsplash — product images (no personal data shared).
Your rights
- Access your data at any time through the app.
- Delete your household data (Settings → Clear Data).
- Delete your account by contacting support@pantryiq.app.
- Request a data export.
